A Comino walking circuit: make the boat timetable the boundary

The island has more than the lagoon, but walking time must fit daylight, access rules and a confirmed return boat.

Start with the whole island plan

The official Comino Walk describes a circular route from the Blue Lagoon through coastal and inland island landscapes. The older leaflet gives a seven-kilometre outline, but its descriptions of services should not be treated as current promises. Check visitor requirements, boat arrangements and the route you intend to follow before arriving.

Carry the practical essentials

Comino’s exposed setting makes water, sun protection, footwear and suitable layers central to the outing. Do not assume that a seasonal stall or old hotel reference will provide what you need. Keep to established public paths, avoid private structures and leave vegetation undisturbed. A shorter section can be enough if the day is hot or your group wants more time to pause.

Make the return independent of ambition

Agree on a meeting point and a boat departure that leaves a comfortable margin. The final kilometre should not become a race to a landing place. Conditions can change transport plans, so check the operator’s instructions rather than relying on a generic island itinerary. If walking becomes uncomfortable, turn back early and use the remaining time for an unhurried shore visit.

PLAN YOUR VISIT

The useful details.

  • Confirm current access rules and your boat departure.
  • Carry supplies rather than relying on old facilities.
  • Turn back with a generous transport margin.
