Start from your real address
Malta Public Transport provides a journey planner, routes, timetables and service alerts for Malta and Gozo. Enter your actual starting point, travel date and destination instead of planning from a town name alone. Check the final walk too, particularly in historic areas with hills or steps. Fare products and personalised-card arrangements are separate questions; read the operator’s current conditions before choosing a ticket.
Choose the correct ferry
Gozo Channel serves the Ċirkewwa–Mġarr crossing and publishes sailing and service information. A journey on that route includes getting to the terminal and travelling onward on Gozo. Valletta Ferry Services operates harbour links between Sliema and Valletta and between Valletta and the Three Cities. Those are different services from a Gozo crossing, with different landing points and seasonal timetables.
Plan the return first
Before a long lunch or evening event, check the return service and a sensible backup. Save the exact landing or bus-stop location, not just a screenshot of a departure time. Look again for service alerts shortly before setting out. If weather affects a sailing, adapt the outing rather than depending on the last possible departure. Our guide does not promise journey times or reproduce a timetable that may change.
The useful details.
- Use current operator timetables and alerts.
- Check which harbour and landing a ferry actually uses.
