Know what the circuit involves
The official Dwejra Walk begins and ends in Victoria and covers a wider western landscape through villages and valleys before reaching the coast. The booklet describes thirteen kilometres, with steep and rocky sections. Decide on the complete circuit or a shortened version in advance. A bus-assisted return is a planning choice rather than a reason to rush the last kilometres.
Read old landmarks critically
The leaflet predates the collapse of the Azure Window and still describes the arch. The arch no longer stands. Use the route for its broader landscape context, not as a promise that every feature or facility remains unchanged. Dwejra’s current attractions include the bay, Inland Sea and surrounding geological landscape, all of which deserve time without seeking the old postcard view.
Keep the return ordinary
Check the roads, current public access and transport before leaving Victoria. Carry water and appropriate footwear, and choose one village pause rather than several lengthy detours. When tired, use the planned return rather than taking an unverified field track. At the coast, respect barriers and keep away from exposed rock edges when conditions are uncomfortable.
The useful details.
- Remember the Azure Window collapsed in2017.
- Allow for thirteen kilometres if completing the circuit.
- Check a transport shortcut before you need it.
