Begin with your own offer

Keep the admission offer, course details and university correspondence together, and identify what remains to be completed before teaching begins. The University of Malta’s international information is the right starting point for overseas students, but requirements vary by course and personal circumstances. Check the actual campus and orientation arrangements rather than assuming every session happens at the Msida campus. A general academic calendar does not replace a course’s own instructions.

Plan the ordinary day

Work through the journey from your accommodation to the first teaching venue, including the return after an evening session. Check what you need for university account access, identification, library use and any course equipment. If a residence or other administrative application is required, use the relevant authority’s process alongside the university’s guidance. Keep appointment and submission dates visible so they do not disappear beneath the social programme of the first week.

Use support early

Find the appropriate university contact for academic, international or practical questions and send a focused enquiry with your student reference. Ask about the service rather than relying on an old social-media answer from another programme. Leave time to understand the campus, arrange food and settle into a realistic study routine. Before adding work or outside commitments, clarify the applicable rules and your actual timetable. The first week is most useful when it establishes a workable base for the term.
