Paradise Bay: take the stairs seriously at both ends

A compact northern cove needs a deliberate approach, a light load and a clear distinction from the nearby resort beach.

Name the beach precisely

Paradise Bay beach near Ċirkewwa is distinct from the shore beside the Paradise Bay Resort hotel. The official bathing-water profile treats these as separate locations. Use the actual beach name and map point when organising a lift, and do not assume a hotel booking or nearby bus stop gives direct access to the cove you have in mind.

Think about the climb out

The beach sits below the surrounding ground, so the stepped approach belongs in the plan before you descend. Keep bags manageable and discuss whether everyone can make the return. A compact cove also has limited space for equipment, making consideration for other visitors particularly useful. Check services directly rather than planning around something mentioned in an old beach account.

Avoid a rushed ferry combination

The nearby Gozo terminal can make the bay look like an effortless add-on, but ferry queues, walking and beach access all take time. Choose a generous interval or make the beach your main outing. Keep to public approaches and follow local signage. Whether to enter the water is a decision for the conditions you find, not the name of the bay.

PLAN YOUR VISIT

The useful details.

  • Distinguish the cove from the resort shoreline.
