Choose the outcome first
A supervised introductory experience and a qualification course serve different purposes. One lets you explore whether you enjoy diving; the other involves a structured programme, skills and assessment. Gozo’s tourism directory lists several established centres, so start by asking each provider what its particular product actually awards. Do not assume a short experience creates the same future options as a completed certification.
Read the whole timetable
Ask about learning materials, preparation, pool or confined-water work, open-water sessions and the time needed for administration. A holiday with only one unallocated afternoon may suit a different product from a week deliberately built around training. Check what happens if conditions prevent a planned session or you need more practice. Leave the final travel schedule for the centre to review with you.
Compare inclusions that affect the day
Equipment, transport, learning access and certification fees may be presented differently between quotes. Request a written outline and the current cancellation terms. Discuss language, group size and the needs of any younger participant directly with the provider. The sensible choice is the programme you can attend and understand comfortably, with an outcome described clearly before payment.
The useful details.
- Ask what qualification, if any, is awarded.
- Compare the full schedule and inclusions.
- Have the centre review the timing of your onward travel.
