Ask about the entry journey
Gozo offers numerous shore-diving sites with different approaches. A shore dive does not necessarily mean walking from a sandy beach into level water. Ask the centre about carrying equipment, steps, uneven ground, vehicle access and available help. Explain any mobility or lifting limitation before selecting a package. The operator can discuss suitable options and the conditions expected on the day.
Arrange the non-diving essentials
Confirm the meeting point, transport arrangements and whether your personal belongings remain at the centre or travel with the group. Pack according to the centre’s instructions and ask about changing facilities, drinking water and the expected break between sessions. Protect documents and electronics appropriately. Avoid bringing a large sightseeing bag simply because a vehicle transfer appears on the itinerary.
Keep the site choice adaptable
Conditions may move a planned dive to a different part of the island. Treat a named site in a package as a conversation about possibilities, not a guaranteed photographic stop. Ask how the operator communicates changes and when you should expect to return. If travelling with someone who is not diving, agree on a meeting point that can survive a change of coast.
The useful details.
- Describe carrying or access needs before booking.
- Confirm what travels in the dive vehicle.
