Reserve a learning window
Start with the centre’s proposed course schedule and prerequisites. Then choose accommodation and other activities around it. Diving instruction involves more than the time spent underwater, and a timetable may change with weather, progress or operational needs. Ask which days require you to be available and which parts of any preparation can be completed before arriving in Malta.
Keep everyday logistics simple
Staying near the chosen centre can reduce unnecessary morning travel, although you should still confirm whether meeting points vary. Ask where equipment is stored, whether transfers are included and what you need to bring each day. Leave enough time for ordinary meals, rest and reviewing learning materials. A distant restaurant reservation or prepaid boat excursion can become an avoidable pressure during a training week.
Protect time after the programme
Do not build the holiday around a promise that every session will finish at an exact hour. Ask about contingency days and how incomplete training is documented if you cannot finish. Discuss onward flights and other planned activities directly with the centre. Use the rest of Gozo for relaxed village or waterfront visits that can move easily when the course requires attention.
