Pack for Comino as a walking island, not a boat lounge

A small, manageable kit helps you enjoy the island on foot without making the return to the boat harder than expected.

Pack for the time away from services

Start with the length of your actual time ashore and the walking you intend to do. Carry drinking water, sun protection, suitable footwear and a layer for the return boat rather than relying on the weather at the departure harbour. Seasonal services and historical hotel references should not determine how you meet an essential need.

Keep the load realistic

Every item comes with you between landing, shore and return point. A large cooler, multiple bags or bulky beach equipment can make even a modest walk awkward. Divide essentials among adults and keep hands available for steps and boarding. Use a secure bag for valuables and take all packaging away. If you need particular medication or equipment, organise that privately before travelling.

Let the kit support a flexible day

An island outing should still work if you remain on dry land, shorten a walk or return to the landing earlier than expected. Keep your phone charged and save the operator’s instructions where you can find them without a data signal. The official walking map is useful for orientation, but current signs and access instructions take priority over an old printed route.
